Berkshires in Spring

The Berkshires, and Lenox in particular, come alive every spring. It may be the most beautiful time to visit the region as the flowers bloom, the streets come alive with art and music and our wonderful museums and venues reopen for the season.

Great Events This Spring

Ever witnessed a baby chick hatching? Videos never quite do it justice,  Baby Animals on the Shaker Farma beloved tradition for families from the Berkshires and beyond, opens April 15 and continues through May 7. Visit the Village and cuddle a lamb or kiss a calf. The barn will be bursting at the seams with chicks, ducklings, piglets, and kids (young goats that is)!

The Mount opens for the season in early May. A day at The Mount is an opportunity to experience the beauty and splendor of Edith Wharton’s beloved country estate. There is so much to do! Be sure to spend some time exploring our trails. They offer a rare opportunity to experience a forest setting that has been carefully manicured and curated, just like the gardens.

If you’re a fan of film, we are also a top-notch destination as May turns into June. Again this year the award-winning Berkshires International Film Festival will roll into the Berkshires, bringing along some of the silver screen’s best offerings.
